What a company bookmark is used for

The natural use for printed bookmarks is high-volume handouts with very little weight: book fairs, libraries, publishers, universities, bookshops and company reading clubs. A thousand 5 × 15 cm card bookmarks weigh about 3 kg and fit into a small box, so taking them to a stand does not complicate logistics. Unlike a leaflet, they stay inside the book the person is already reading and are seen every time they open it.

It is best to treat it as a piece of stationery rather than a long leaflet: 300 to 400 g/m² card (below 250 g/m² it bends within a few weeks), a matt, gloss or soft-touch laminate so the edge does not fray, and a back with something worth keeping, such as the year calendar, a QR code or a reading list. The logo sits in one corner; the rest of the space is content.

   We send you the price and a mock-up of both sides with your design, so you can decide with something visual in front of you.

   You approve and pay

   We adjust the design until it is right for you. You pay when you approve the mock-up, before production.

   Production and delivery

   Usually it takes two to three weeks from approval; a special die, wood or metal can extend that. We ship with tracking to one address or several, across the European Union.

Typical mistakes

• Using card under 250 g/m²: it bends inside the book and ends up in the bin.
• Filling both sides with advertising. Nobody keeps an advert; they do keep a calendar, a quote or a reading list.
• Placing small text too close to the edge. It gets lost when cutting: leave a safety margin of a few millimetres.
• Printing a QR code without testing it, or linking it to a generic page instead of something planned for the reader.
• Choosing metal or wood for high-volume handouts. They are gift materials; for a fair, card does the job better.
