EssentialA folder is judged when it is opened
Branded folders are judged twice. The first time lasts ten seconds: someone picks one up from the table and decides whether it feels professional. The second lasts months, because folders are kept with the documents inside. That is why what makes the difference is not the size of the logo, but the material, the fastenings and what is inside.
For card folders, the standard is around 350 g/m², printed in full colour outside and inside: below 300 g/m² the folder buckles as soon as it is filled. With portfolios, the structure matters: all-round zip or magnetic closure, included pad, document pockets and card slots. Materials such as recycled polyester, faux leather or bonded leather stand up to years of use in a bag.
The format matters too. A4 is for anyone taking documents into a meeting; A5 and organisers are for anyone who only needs a pad, a mobile and a couple of cards. If the portfolio will be used with a laptop or tablet, check the internal measurements on the product page before you choose.
Which folder or portfolio to choose
| Model | What it includes | Usual branding | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|---|
| A4 card folder | Thick card, business card slot | Full-colour print, outside and inside | Conferences, sales documents, large-scale handouts |
| A4 zipped portfolio | Lined pad, document pockets | Screen printing or transfer on the cover | Training and meetings away from the office |
| A4 portfolio with magnetic closure | Pad and pockets, quick closure | Transfer or applied label | Daily use at the desk and on visits |
| Faux leather or bonded leather portfolio | Pad, pockets and card slots | Pad printing or foil blocking | Clients, management and important meetings |
| A5 portfolios and organisers | Small pad, holder for pen or mobile | Screen printing, transfer or engraving | Anyone working away from the office |
| Tech organiser | Compartments for cables, charger and battery pack | Screen printing or transfer | Teams who travel |
What can be personalised
- The full design of the card folder: outside and inside in full colour, with your logo, your colours and text on the inside cover.
- Your logo on the portfolio cover, in one colour or full colour depending on the material and technique.
- The colour, when the model is available in several options.
- The full set: portfolio, replacement branded notebooks and branded pens with the same logo, in the same quote.
- The sustainable range: recycled polyester, bonded leather or card, if the rest of your merchandise is going in that direction.
Common mistakes when ordering folders with logo
- Choosing thin card to save money: it bends the first time it is used and gives exactly the opposite impression to the one you wanted.
- Putting a large logo on a faux leather portfolio. Small and in one tone, in foil blocking or pad printing, looks better.
- Only checking the external size: a portfolio for A4 documents needs to be slightly larger than A4 so they fit without bending.
- Giving the same model to everyone at a conference. The card folder works for handouts; the portfolio is better kept for speakers, clients and private meetings.
- Assuming the pen is included. Many portfolios have the holder, but not the pen: check the product page and add it to the quote if you want it.
Two versions for the same event
At a conference or trade fair, it makes sense to think in two tiers: a printed card folder for every attendee's documents and a portfolio for meetings with clients and speakers. In event merchandise you can see how to split the budget between both, and branded lanyards complete the accreditation.
Outside events, folders work well for internal training, for the documents you leave behind after a sales visit and for new starters, together with the rest of your branded stationery for companies.
Order and lead times
Each model can be ordered from 10 units per item, with a minimum order of RON 527.90 per quote, excluding VAT and delivery. We send you a free mock-up with your logo in the real position and size, and you pay when you approve it. Production usually takes two or three weeks from approval, depending on the technique and quantity, and shipping is tracked to your office, the event venue or several addresses across the European Union.
If you are unsure between two materials, you can request samples before the full run. For portfolios that go to clients or management, that is the safest option: the feel of the cover and the quality of the zip are easier to judge in the hand than in a photo.
How we choose
A notebook is judged by its paper.
The paper weight decides whether the notebook is used or left as decoration. Below 80 grams, the pen bleeds through and no one writes in it twice. We always request it in writing from the manufacturer.
- Paper of 80 grams or more, always
- Sewn binding, allowing it to open fully
- Recycled paper with certification, if requested
Portfolios and folders: the entire catalogue is branded in Europe, with delivery within the timeframe we agree with you.
The detail
Blind embossing says more than colour.
On a hard cover, marking without ink gives a sober finish that lasts and never goes out of style.
